چکیده
A new approach to quantum Markov processes is developed and the corresponding Fokker-Planck-like equation is derived. The latter was examined to reproduce known results from classical and quantum physics. It was also applied to the phase-space description of a mechanical system thus leading to a new treatment of this problem different from the Wigner presentation. The equilibrium probability density obtained in the mixed coordinate-momentum space is a reasonable extension of the Gibbs canonical distribution.

Optimal superimposed codes and designs for Renyi’s search model
Renyi (Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. 71 (6) (1965) 809) suggested a combinatorial group testing model, in which the size of a testing group was restricted. In this model, Renyi considered the search of one defective element (signi5cant factor) from the 5nite set of elements (factors). The corresponding optimal search designs were obtained by Katona (J. Combin. Theory 1 (2) (1966) 174). In the present ...

متن کاملHow closely correlated are molecular and quantitative measures of genetic variation? A meta-analysis.
The ability of populations to undergo adaptive evolution depends on the presence of quantitative genetic variation for ecologically important traits. Although molecular measures are widely used as surrogates for quantitative genetic variation, there is controversy about the strength of the relationship between the two. To resolve this issue, we carried out a meta-analysis based on 71 datasets. ...
متن کاملGene tagging in rice: a high throughput system for functional genomics.
Rice, with its small genome size and well-characterized molecular information, is an ideal model plant for cereal genomics research. Sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa) genome will be determined by the International Rice Genome Sequencing Project (IRGSP) in the near future. Therefore, a large population of mutant plants should be required for adequately assigning function to the abundant sequen...
